SAPPERS 4x4 GYMPO 2019 THE OFFROAD CHALLRENGE SRILANKA
Sean Hameed, Rushiran Silva, and Four Wheel Drive Club Sri Lanka FWDC (Four wheel drive club Sri Lanka) held the brutally off-road adventurous " SAPPERS 4x4 GYMPO 2019 THE OFF ROAD CHALLENGE SRILANKA " The ultimate spirit of 4x4 adventure between 5 - 12 September 2019
, which first day on September 5th flagoff ceremony at Diyasaru Park Ministry of Megapolis And Western development In Colombo honer by Major General Nana Yakkara Chief Field Engineer S.L.Army Corps of Engineer and many military officers to honor the ceremony. And this competition were sponsored by the main sponsors from Isuzu, Sri Lanka Airlines and Wurth.
The competition is divided into 2 category 1. Extreme 4x4 2. Touring 4x4, There are a total of 35 teams participating in the competition. The schedule competiton are as follows.
Before Day 1, September 4th, Bandaranaike Airport and Wheel Drive Club Sri Lanka (FWDC) Colombo
Day 1, September 5th, Flag Off Ceremony At Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development Diyasaru Park Colombo
Day2 , September 6th, departed to Embillpitiya city, away from the capital Colombo approximately 280 km to the northeast of Sri Lanka and Resting on the way to the Chapel of the Virgin Mary at Matara city.
Day 3 , September 7th, stage 1 SS Tunkama, Embillpitiya city the competition 4 SS in SS 3, 4, 5 and 6 campsite at Sri Lankan School of Military Engineering
Day4 , September 8th, stage 1 SS , Sri Lanka School Of Military Engineering Tunkama, Embillpitiya the competition 4 SS in SS 1, 2(Touring 4x4 Category), SS7 and 8 (Extreme 4x4 Category)Campsite at Hasthi
Day 5, 9 Septh, Stage 2 SS Uda Walawe the competition 3 SS in SS 9, 10 and 11 Campsite at Hasthi
Day6, September 10th, Stage 2 SS Uda Walawe the competition 3 SS in SS 12, 13 and 14 Campsite at Hasthi
DaY 7, September 11th , Stage 3 SS Godakawela SS1 (Uda Walawe) SS2 and 15 Campsite at Saru Blue Sapphire Hotel
Final on DAY 8, September 12th , Stage 3 SS Godakawela the competition 3 SS in SS 2,15, 16 ,17 and Prize giving for the winners at Saru Blue Sapphire Hotel.
This year's competition continues to provide fun, excitement and enthusiasm for off-road fun which has all the natural obstacles and imitating many nature of special stage in short curves, long curves, dangerous slopes, high hills, low hills, steep cliffs, large rocks, small rocks, muddy, deep water, bridges and narrow path tracks and the most beautiful night SS under full moon light,some teams have missed over lean side and car engine, suspension and winch were damaged but those all of the off-road fighters of Sri Lanka still had hardcore heart fighting for man and machine no any back step until the end of the competition, a total of 17 SS.
This is a real off-road 4x4 adventure event in the city and the jungle full of friendships, relationships and the most exciting, challenging and fun on the beautiful land like paradise of Indian Ocean region which tourist attractions, beautiful nature and superb culture, That SriLanka is climbing all aspects of prosperity, Sawadee Krub Sri lanka the Pearls of Indian Ocean !
