RC was faced with the daunting task of knocking the King of Supercross, Jeremy McGrath, off the top rung, which he accomplished in 2001. Carmichael, however, was never toppled from his throne, taking on all challengers and emerging victorious. After announcing his retirement plans, RC stuck to his guns despite having a probable chance at winning yet another pair of titles in 2007.
